6 Wedding Tips for Being On the Dancefloor

If you are getting married soon, congratulations! This is an exciting time in your life. You get to see friends and family, say your I do's, cut the cake, and eat great food. One of the most important things about a wedding is dancing. Being able to move around and have a great time with your loved ones is the best feeling!

You might be wondering what exactly you need to remember while being on the dance floor and why are all of these details so important? This is what we will be going over.

1. What kind of music will you use?

Are you going to have a band, DJ, live singer or music played through the stereo system? More than likely, you are inviting all kinds of ages at your wedding, ranging from little children to the elderly. Trying to add music that all will enjoy will be most helpful. Another important thing to note is having someone in charge of stopping and starting the music back up would be best.

2. What song will be played for your first dance?

Finding that perfect song can be tough. What if you like country music but your fiance prefers pop music more? Find an artist that both of you like and get listening to their songs. It helps to find a median!

3. The first dance is over. Now what?

After the initial dance is over, making a small announcement that other people are invited to the dance floor would be the best option unless if you have a specific dance you have planned with your bridesmaids and groomsmen. The more your guests are involved, the better it will be.  Having a pamphlet over what is going to happen throughout the night is a great way to capture their attention as well!

4. Is your wedding dress too long for dancing?

When picking your dress out, take into consideration if you are going to be dancing a lot. If your dress has a long train, it might get bundled up on the floor and can be hard to turn. You can always tie it to your wrist or have a spare dress to wear during the time of your reception.

5. Will the groom's jacket bunch over his shoulders?

Perhaps your future husband's jacket may be too tight for him to wear, especially while dancing. During this time, it might be best if he uses just a vest.

6. What kind of shoes will be worn on the dance floor?

The shoes you wore for your ceremony is a good fit for the first half of your wedding, but may not be so great for dancing. Having comfortable yet durable shoes is the best action to take.
