What to Wear to Your Ballroom Dancing Class
We understand. Starting something new always carries with it a level of anxiety mixed in with better feelings of anticipation and excitement. Don't let knowing what to wear stress you out! Here's a quick guide, so you can walk into your first ballroom dancing class with confidence. In fact, you won't just walk in, you'll glide. We just know it.
It's important to wear clothes that are light and breathable. These articles of clothing should flow with you, without encumbering your movements or making you feel too hot.
Don't wear anything that might fall off or be damaged in some way. You're going to be moving and learning, don't let your clothing distract you.
Think layers! You'll be dancing in all seasons, so wear light components that can easily be slipped off after you begin to warm up. Or, put back on as you begin to cool down.
Wear shoes that won't easily fall off or stick to the floor. Again, think comfortable.
Avoid wearing a type of clothing you've never worn before. Ballroom dancing is a happy and joyous occasion. You'll want to wear something that makes you feel like your authentic self. By all means, experiment if you like! Just do so in a way that makes you feel confident and safe.
